RAW MATERIAL
The Raw Material creation project is an extended reality (XR) project based on the use of selfies in volumetric captures, transformed into virtual environments, for the creation of printed , animated , interactive and Fulldome digital paintings.
I use my bodily identity as a source of an extraction of aesthetic forms that is based on the metaphor of the exploitation of a deposit of digital matter. Matière première reveals a creative process that privileges chance, the random, the contingent, the accident, the deformed in relation to the fluctuating representation of identity of which volumetric selfies constitute the raw material.
The points of view transform the concreteness of the captures into abstract virtual space. And the accidents of capture, such as empty spaces or distortions resulting from gaps in the digital capture, are deliberately left apparent, or even provoked.
